I love Japanese food - and have been searching for good places here in London to get my healthy, fresh, flavour fix ! My hands down favorite is Japanese tapas-style Dinings in Marylebone, helmed by former Nobu chef, Tomonari Chiba.
During our latest visit, I took some photos to share with you (warning! these are mouth watering)...
We have been coming back to this quaint joint, despite the difficulty to get a seat (bookings are a must for dinner), cramped basement setting (where you can hear the neighbors on their first dates, or worse when we visited - a rowdy bunch of diners!)
Our Sancerre wine got stolen by the noisy table beside us (I think one got tipsy and just helped themselves to our bucket!), but they apologized & Dinings gave us another bottle to enjoy. The food is not short of perfection, from the regular menu staples to the daily specials written on the chalk boards.
Here are some of the wonderful dishes we sampled:
Duck Breast Tataki |
Toro in Three Ways with Truffles and Foie Gras |
Scottish Scallops with Yuzu Dressing |
Sea Bass Carpaccio with Truffles |
My favorite dish of the lot - the gentle texture of the sea bass combined with the earthy truffle was just to die for. I loved the tartness of the dressing and the way the flavours complimented each other. I could quite happily have this dish again !
