Hong Kong is a constantly evolving city and I was happy to go back to my second home city in Asia for a quick stopover. This time around, I was very excited to stay at The Upper House in Admirality. It's a stylish new boutique hotel by the Swire Group, opened in 2010 and already #1 ranked on TripAdvisor! I've been wanting to stay here since I used to live in HK and became a fan of the hotel's Cafe Grey (after the restaurant decamped from its NY headquarters).
In the morning, I had a wonderful Oriental Breakfast in the room (it was just too beautiful to leave) - lovely dimsum, porridge, Chinese tea. I added a freshly squeezed carrot and apple juice to kickstart my busy day in the city.
In the room, we also had a luxe maxi bar - coffee, cookies, nuts and juices all inclusive, ready whenever you want it. Being jetlagged from the flight, we had some nice warm tea and Milano cookies at 3 am - having a small snack when you want it, without having to disrupt or wait for room service is wonderful.
The bed was gorgeous and heavenly to sleep on - and aesthetically, I am a big fan of the color scheme (see my blog). Our spacious 400 sqft bathroom (dare I say, the most spacious I have seen in HK hotels I've stayed in) had my favorite REN toiletries. (see Renewing Your Skincare) A wonderful modern bath, with gorgeous city views, a TV and a separate shower - all very perfect in my book!
I am definitely making this my new home when we drop by HK again!
