Virgin Club Lounge

Heathrow's Virgin Club Lounge was one of the best I've been to in years of travelling! I normally zip in and out of airport lounges, but this time I wanted to stay a bit longer and enjoy the facilities. The lounge looks more like a club with spacious zones for dining, relaxing and entertainment. The upstairs seating area reminded me of the W hotel bars. We enjoyed a nice sit down dinner, a glass of bubbly, and some fresh salads - a luxury compared to most other lounge offerings.

In addition to the usual amenities - wifi, shower, work stations- there was also a pampering zone where one could book beauty treatments pre-departure! As you can imagine, the appointments were all taken up. So, I took my chances on a wait list and ended up with a free shampoo and haircut trim from the Bumble & Bumble salon. The stylist was great and knowledgeable about her craft and didn't push too hard on products, which made me really enjoy the experience. I'm definitely booking ahead for other services next time - they also have Cowshed facial / massage treatments, and nail services to choose from.
What a wonderful way to start your plane journey, refreshed, pampered and ready to face your next destination!
