Here are some of my favourites...
Christopher Kane
Becoming one of London Fashion Week's must watch designers, I've been a fan for a few seasons now of Kane's well edited collections. I loved the geometric cut dresses in sweet traditional 60s wallpaper prints & embellished necklines - a fresh idea for Spring. What I did not like so much were the flat sandals that reminded me of the 90s version of slippers (I had those black Prada slip-ons years ago, do you remember the "athletic slipper" craze?) I much preferred the clothes and really loved the feel of a glamorous paper doll dress.
Jonathan Saunders
Eye candy from start to finish - every piece he showed this Spring was just a delight to watch. Lovely dresses, full skirts, and fabrics with sheen - a very bright palette for a proper lady. I had a hard time choosing which outfit I liked the most, but I thought this nubbly metallic knit in lemon paired with a lime green pencil skirt was the freshest day wear idea. Love those Christian Louboutin wedge espadrilles that almost stole the show!
Antonio BerardiPringle of Scotland
My mom was a big fan of this brand for its knits, and I was not particularly in its target group of customers. However, Allistair Carr, its new designer who was a Balenciaga alum, made me sit up & take notice this season. Some pieces definitely stood out taking a more modern spin to the usual knitted favourites. Hits included abstract intarsias on sweaters, geometric shapes, and clear nods to his old mentor, Nicolas Ghesquiere's aesthetic. While the show featured a few pieces that were more classic (hello twinsets), I particularly liked the contemporary pieces & could see these as a new modern wardrobe for the city. Those S&M pointed shoes are on my hit list too !
